The giant's open glass hand: Hubble imagery (ESA/Hubble, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International) The open palm-up glass hand of the giant at the head of the products (the drawing's cut in this folder: being-*.webp and the files beside it) is filled with gas from one Hubble Space Telescope image published by ESA/Hubble, the same image the nebula inside his head is made from (the entrance's own NOTICE.txt, beside its files). The hand's shape, its glass, its stars and everything else of the giant are the drawing and the page's own. The image, with its exact credit as published: "New view of the Pillars of Creation - visible" (heic1501a, the Eagle Nebula, M 16), released 5 January 2015 Credit: NASA, ESA/Hubble and the Hubble Heritage Team Page: https://esahubble.org/images/heic1501a/ File: https://cdn.esahubble.org/archives/images/large/heic1501a.jpg (6780 x 7071) Used: the left pillar's dark body under its lit cap and the gas beside it (x 1600 to 3300, y 1200 to 2150 of the image's px) Changes made to the image (scripts/space/kresba/hand/hand.py and texneb.py, run on the file above): - its bright stars' cores and halos (and the brightest ones' diffraction spikes) filled from round them; that region resized by area averaging, 2.0 of its px a texel (never enlarged), its finest grain lightened, its smaller stars taken out; - its colours graded to the drawing's helmet as the nebula inside his head is (the same colour map), its broad light lowered and its structure (the pillars' lit rims, the dust lanes) raised, its darkest dust taken towards black; its hues laid on the helmet's own warm amber and orange and its teal-blue, darker, its colours' chroma and saturation raised, its brightest light held under the glass's highlights; - seen inside the glass hand in two layers at their own scales and turns, bent by the glass, shaded with the glass's own reflections and stars, and composed into the drawing (kresba.png), from which this folder's files are cut.
